Port maths wizard is best in country

A maths wizard from Porthleven has achieved the top result in the country for one of his A-level modules.

Jowan Shainberg, who is a student at Helston Community College, is taking further maths as one of his subjects and this result will go towards his final exam grade later in the year.

Jowan already has an A at A-level for maths and decided to stay in the sixth-form for a third year in order to take further maths and physics.

The 19-year-old hopes to study maths at Exeter University in September.

His mum Jan e said: “I’m really proud of him – it is some accolade.”

Congratulations. He sounds like a bright young lad, shame he can't sort out Cornwall Councils budget for them, seeing as they don't appear to be able to make the figures add up.
