Massive power loss hits Falmouth, Penryn and Budock

Large swathes of Falmouth, Penryn and Budock Water were left in darkness this lunchtime due to a massive power cut.

This is believed to have been caused by a 33,000-volt transformer catching fire in the area.

It resulted in the complete loss of electricity, telephones and even mobile internet.

Traffic lights in Penryn are also reported to have stopped working.

Falmouth town centre was out briefly, but power returned fairly quickly.

Other outlying areas were left in darkness for around 45 minutes.

Is this related to the weird sporadic power cuts that have hit Helston over the past few nights?

Wife was stuck on the escalator ramp in ASDA. Her trolley could neither be pushed up or down. Fortunately for her the power was restored quite quickly.

I missed most of the BBC News, and could'nt make a Cup of Tea after my Dinner lol!
Still, at least the Power cut was'nt due to someone trying to steal Cable.
