A blaze of golden daffodils welcomed visitors to the Mullion WI Spring show on Saturday.
They were some of the many entries for the floral art section of the show, which took place in the WI Hall.

The show celebrated the talents of young people as well as adults, thanks to the efforts of the headmistress Carleen Deybugh and teachers at Mullion Community Primary School. More than 150 entries were exhibited in the children's art and craft section, with many gaining awards.  One of their most eye catching exhibits were the sets of perfect teeth in the “teeth and healthy eating” class.

All the adult classes were also declared to be of an excellent standard, with the judges commenting on the exceptionally high quality of the art section.

There was a mouth-watering cooking section showing skills in baking traditional Cornish recipes including pasties, biscuits and cakes.

The awards were presented by Peggy Lewis, who has been a member of the WI for 22 years. The president, Ann Symons, said that there had been 40 per cent more entries this year and she thanked the exhibitors and everyone who had helped to make the show a success, especially the organiser Margaret Tomlinson.
