An angler was critically injured after being washed off the rocks near Praa Sands this weekend.
The fisherman went into the sea off Trewarvas Point, just after 4pm on Saturday.
He was first spotted by another angler, who saw him fall into the sea and immediately called the coastguard.
The Penlee inshore lifeboat made it to the scene at 4.30pm.
Penlee lifeboat coxswain Patch Harvey said: "The conditions were quite nasty with a big swell and a strong east wind.
"The coastguards at Falmouth did a great job getting all the emergency services away in a short time, which hopefully has saved a life."
At the last report, the fisherman was said to be in a critical condition in hospital.
