Drivers are warned to take care on the roads as the forecast highlights the chance of isolated wintry showers in temperatures as low as -4C.
Cornwall Council is warning of ice in damp spots, with gritters heading out at 6pm.
The Met Office says that overnight it will be "very cold with a widespread penetrating frost".
Adding thta while remaining largely dry with a few clear spells, a few light snow showers are possible, mainly along English Channel facing coasts.
Drivers should be particularly aware of road surface conditions on Wednesday morning, which will be cold with a "biting easterly wind".
The outlook for Thursday to Saturday is for temperatures to remain low with further wintry flurries, widespread penetrating night frosts and bitter easterly winds.
There is also a low risk of some light rain or snow developing Friday and Saturday.
