The list of candidates has been announced who will be standing for Cornwall Council in the Helston area elections. 

Vying for the place in the Helston north division will be Leonie Gough from Porthleven for the UK Independence Party, Phil Martin from Sithney as an Independent, Alec Robertson from Helston for the Conservative Party and Mollie Scrase from Marazion for the Liberal Democrats.

Competing in the Helston south division are Scott Blanford from Helston for the UK Independence Party, James Buchanan from Helston as an Independent, Tanya Dyer from Helston for the Conservative Party, Judith Haycock from Helston as an Independent and John Martin from Godolphin Cross for the Liberal Democrats.

Running in the Porthleven and Helston west division are Richard Goedegebuur from Sithney for the Liberal Democrats, Stephen Gough from Porthleven for the UK Independence Party, Liz Lane from Porthleven for the Conservative Party and Andrew Wallis from Porthleven as an Independent.

In the Breage, Germoe and Sithney division the candidates are John Keeling from Ashton for the Conservative Party and Michael Mahon from Praa Sands for the UK Independence Party, while standing in the Crowan and Wendron division are Jackie Harding from Camborne for the Labour Party, Loveday Jenkin from Praze An Beeble for Mebyon Kernow, David Knight from Nancegollan as an Independent and Linda Taylor from Leedstown for the Conservative Party.

Standing for Mullion and Grade Ruan are Alfred Mesropians from The Lizard for the Conservative Party, Carolyn Rule from Mullion as an Independent and Nina Sutherland from Mullion for the UK Independence.

For St Keverne and Meneage are Brian Bailey from Sithney Village for the UK Independence Party, Dominic Brandreth from Traboe for the Green Party, Ann Round from Penzance for the Labour Party and Walter Sanger from St Keverne for the Conservative Party.
