A top cop honoured for his work uncovering predatory paedophiles has paid tribute to the victims for their "real courage and inner strength."

The beached whale discovered in Falmouth this week had to be put down when its injuries proved too severe. A long-finned juvenile pilot whale, it became stranded at Castle Beach around 11am on Monday:
