A youngster with Falmouth Parish Church Guides has been awarded the Baden-Powell Challenge Award – the highest level and most prestigious award a Guide can achieve.

The Baden-Powell award received by Katie Richards is only achievable by collecting a certain number of interest badges.

Katie had won badges for leadership – in which she ran a dance workshop for other guides – first aid, creative work in which she produced a mosaic, and taking part in a county weekend in Bath which had a Roman theme and had a focus on the historical significance of Bath.

Leader Sue Peet was also awarded for her service to the Falmouth Parish Church Guides for more than 30 years, along with Jackie George, a former guide who had returned and was recognised for ten years of service.
