Praise has been given to the workmen carrying out the resurfacing of Helston's Coinagehall Street at the start of this month.

Nick Martin, from Helston Age Concern, gave his thanks to those involved, including Cormac, for their help and understanding.

It was after he attempted to drive his elderly charges in the Age Concern bus to their meeting at the Methodist church - and was faced with a road filled with heavy machinery.

After a quick conversation to the supervisor in charge, however, all work was paused to allow Mr Martin to drop the pensioners on the doorstep of the church.

“I would like to publicly say thank you to all that group who helped us out,” he said.

Mayor Jonathan Radford-Gaby agreed: “It was very, very smooth the way the work went. I think that work was done on record time and in exemplary fashion.”
