Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, paid a visit to Tremough university campus in Penryn today.
The Earl, who is seventh in line to the throne, toured Falmouth University’s Academy for Innovation & Research and the University of Exeter’s Environment and Sustainability Institute as well as the new teaching, learning and research hub – The Exchange.
He helped plant a Japanese Cherry Blossom tree on campus and enjoyed lunch in the university's refectory with the two university's student body presidents.
Town mayor Gill Grant was introduced to the prince and they had "a brief chat about Penryn."
"He was charming and very interested in what was going on," she said.
