World-record-setting Falmouth artist's latest work revealed
A Penryn-born artist will display his latest painting of the J-Class at Falmouth Art Gallery before it goes under the hammer at Christie's this summer.
Jamie Medlin, who is now based in Falmouth, set the world record for marine art in December when his last painting of the J-Class, called The Solent, sold for £127,250.
His latest work is of the 2012 Falmouth J-Class Regatta and features “Lionheart” way ahead of the fleet, off Pendennis Castle on Saturday's final race of the series.
It will be on display at Falmouth Art Gallery for the next two weeks, before going to Christie's fine art auctioneers in London for a private viewing and auction on June 12.
Limited edition prints of the artwork are available to purchase from Gallery 18 on the moor, or through Jamie's website at www.jamiemedlin.com
