What are the ingredients for a perfect picnic? A good sandwich and a nice view?
Bread manufacturers Kingsmill have discovered what we already knew - if location is key then the Helston and the Lizard are is hard to beat.
The company has named Penrose Walk at Loe Bar one of the top 25 places in the UK to eat lunch outdoors and is calling on people to help get it in the top ten by voting before April 29.
Each location featured in the top ten will be awarded a plaque and bench to celebrate its status as one of the UK's best 'Lunch Spots'.
To get to this point Kingsmill has worked with tourist boards such as Visit England and Visit Wales to whittle down 10,000 nominations to the shortlisted 25. The judges looked at everything from accessibility to free entry.
One nominee said: “Penrose Walk is a splendid coastal and undisturbed woodland walk around Loe Pool, the largest natural freshwater lake in Cornwall.
“Accompanied with abundant wildlife, families can stop and take in the picturesque surroundings whilst enjoying a picnic. A fantastic day out that can be enjoyed by all the family.”
