Over 20 firefighters were called out in the early hours of this morning to tackle a large fire at a Coverack bungalow

Crews were first called out to The blaze at Polcoverack Lane, Coverack just before 4am.

There were no occupants in the building at the time of the fire.

Resources from St. Keverne were mobilised and on arrival the crews found a detached single storey bungalow measuring approximately ten metres by ten metres well alight. Further resources were requested and crews from Mullion were mobilised.

By 4.45 teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were deployed and two main jets and a  high pressure hosereel were being used.

The main fire had been extinguished by 6am and crews were monitoring the property using a thermal image camera and damping down hotspots using a high pressure hosereel.

By 7am all the fire appliances have now all left the scene. 

A fire investigation is in progress to determine the cause of the fire.
