A father died alongside his eight-year-old daughter in a speedboat crash that rocked the county, and the country, this weekend. 

The out-of-control Padstow boat injured four other family members and was only stopped thanks to a quick-thinking waterskiier:

Elections were held for county, town and parish positions on Thursday, throwing up some interesting results. Especially in Mabe, which now has its first ever UKIP Cornwall Councillor.

An injured deer had to be shot by an armed response officer on the outskirts of Penryn after it was knocked down by a car on Saturday morning. 

Cannabis plants were seized from a Falmouth drugs farm last Thursday after the police executed a warrant on a property near the town's hospital.

A "large quantity" (pictured below) of the Class B narcotic was recovered, according to Sergeant Martin Roberts from Falmouth Police Station:

An upturned car was found in a Mylor hedge over the weekend after it crashed in the early hours of the morning. Five firefighters helped recover the silver Ford Fiesta from its woody roost on Bissom Road.

Family favourite Flambards theme park went up for sale this week for the first time in its 37 year history. The news has been greeted with shock and uncertainty by locals.

A £10 million redevelopment of Helston Community College could begin as early as September if their plans get the green light. The town council unanimously supported the proposals at their meeting on Thursday.

Helston and the Lizard has lost its community network manager of the past three years, Charlotte Chadwick, after she was moved to cover Camborne, Redruth and Pool.

20+ firefighers tackled a bungalow blaze in Coverack on Friday when a fire broke out just before 4am. It took two hours to douse the flames.

A Helston workman was airlifted to hospital on Thursday after falling from a ladder and injuring his arm and leg.

He was found in Manor Way by a delivery driver, who contacted the emergency services that transported him to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital:
