Tea, cake and taster sessions were the order of the day when the Highway Community Centre in Penryn opened its doors and invited in residents wanting to learn more.
The open afternoon gave all those who operate from the centre the chance to showcase the changes that have been made recently and let people know exactly what they have to offer.
The building, in Church Road, is a real “community” centre and is used by a host of local groups and organisations, including the Falmouth and Penryn Foodbank, the Highway Church, Acorns Toddler Group and the Youth Space.
More than 100 people attended throughout the afternoon and many tried their hand at a few of the activities on offer, such as table tennis with the Youth Space teenagers and face painting with the toddler group.
Several also had a guided tour of the Foodbank facilities and everyone enjoyed tea and homemade cakes before they left.
Anyone wanting to find out more about what goes on at the centre, or how easy it is to hire, should contact Felicia on 01326 378433 or email admin@highwaychurch.co.uk.
