Jessie J and the Eden Project are giving artists from Cornwall and Devon the opportunity to open the pop superstar’s shows at the Eden Sessions on July 13 and 14.

Jessie J herself will have the final say on who will play on the main stage at Eden in front of nearly 12,000 people over two nights. They will be the first to perform before Jessie’s soon-to-be-announced special guest.

Acts can enter by sending a YouTube link showcasing one of their tracks, along with a contact phone number to: jessiejcomp@edenproject.com. Audio visual and Audio formats within YouTube are acceptable. Video or audio file attachments will not be accepted as entries.

A shortlist of the best entries will be compiled and Jessie J will then pick the winner from this shortlist.

Entry is open to bands and musical artists based in Cornwall and Devon. To qualify, at least one permanent member of the entry must have their primary residence in one of the two counties.

All entries must be received by midnight on June 10, 2013. Eden cannot take responsibility for lost, damaged, corrupted or undelivered entries. All entrants must be aged 16 years or over.

Rita Broe from Eden said: “There’s a thriving music scene in the South West and we’re very pleased to be able to give the opportunity for local acts to open Jessie J’s Eden Sessions, especially as Jessie herself is such an advocate for new talent.”

The Eden Sessions are entering their 12th year in 2013. Headliners this year are Eddie Izzard (June 3), Kaiser Chiefs (June 29), Sigur Rós (June 30), The xx (July 2) and Jessie J (July 13 and 14).

Live footage of some of the biggest bands in the world playing at the Eden Sessions is now available to fans for free. The exclusive live videos, which were shot at Eden Sessions gigs since 2002, have been released onto a dedicated YouTube channel called Eden Sessions TV at www.youtube.com/EdenSessionsTV.

New tracks and artists will be added to channel regularly.

Tickets to Jessie J’s July 14 show are now sold out but a limited number are still available for the July 13 date costing £35 plus £5 booking fee. To book, contact the Eden Box Office on 01726 811972 or visit www.edensessions.com.
