UPDATE: A 72 year old male, who was on holiday in Cornwall has died from the injuries sustained in the collision. Police are currently trying to trace his next kin.

 

The road between Marazion and Rosudgeon is closed this evening after a pedestrian was “seriously injured” in a collision with a car.

The collision between the man and a silver VW Golf took place near to the Trevellion farm shop on the A394 just before 4.30pm.

A police spokesperson said: “It is thought the male pedestrian was crossing the road and the car collided with the pedestrian.”

The road has been closed by police at Rosudgeon and at the Marazion roundabout while emergency services carry out their work at the scene.

There is likely to be heavy traffic in the area and police are urging motorists to be patient and follow diversions. The road is expected to be closed for some time.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and have asked them to call the 101 number and quote log 548 of May 24, 2013.
