Staff have been suspended from a day centre for adults with learning disabilities in Liskeard, pending an investigation.

The five staff from Morley Tamblyn Lodge have been suspended, with Cornwall Council saying it was looking into "safeguarding, management and service improvement concerns".

The council says that the in-depth review, means that the centre would be running reduced services and that it is "in close contact with people who use the service and their families and discussions are taking place with them to find alternatives where possible".

Council portfolio holder for adult care Judith Haycock said: "As always our priority is to ensure that we maintain safe services and protect individuals."

The centre care for 60 people.
