The family service on Sunday was taken by the Rector, the Rev Lesley Walker.
The sermon was based on the reading from Samuel which told the story of the all-powerful King David wanting another man’s wife and finding a way to achieve this, and then being shown the error of his ways.
To obtain God’s forgiveness and receive His love we must accept responsibility for our actions, make a commitment and pay the price. The lesson was read by Pauline Arnold and the organ was played by Andrew Woods.
On a damp and chilly morning the congregation, including many visitors, was greeted by a warm church as the new heating was switched on for the first time. There are still a few items outstanding and fund raising needs to continue, but everyone was delighted with the new system. The church has been without heating for over a year.
The service on Sunday at 9.30am will be a eucharist celebrated by the Rector.
