Julie Swann was the preacher for morning worship on Fathers’ Day, and she explored the theme of God as Father, dealing with the various perceptions people have of their earthly fathers and making the point that God is above comparison.
Lessons were read by Jeff and Andree Mount. Organist was David Philp.
There was no evening service, instead members of the congregation joined with the friends at nearby Breaney Chapel, for a communion service led by Deacon Geoff Tamblin.
Normal weekly meetings continue at the chapel; Saturday, June 29 there is to be a special coffee morning, staffed by the Powerhouse Young People’s group to raise funds for Canine Partners (training dogs for the disabled). All are welcome to this event - cake stall and various others.
