The funeral of a surfer who died while filming a whirlpool in Hayle has taken place in Penzance.

Friends dressed in colourful clothing paid silent tribute after a service in the town to celebrate his life.

A guard of honour lifted bodyboards and surfboards as his colourful coffin was carried into St Mary's church by his friends.

The 28-year-old photographer died after being recovered from the water at Carnsew Pool at Hayle.

He was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
