A Cornish man is among five people charged following a police fraud investigation.

Les McGirl, age 63 of Southbourne Road, St Austell has been charged with conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office.

Anthony Bodgin, age 63 of Melbourne Street in Tiverton; Kevin Wingrave, age 50 and Lyn McMayon age 56 both of Periwinkle Drive, Chaddlewood in Plymouth; and Gary Rawlings, 56 of Biggleswade in Bedfordshire have also all been charged with conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office.

Anthony Bodgin has also been charged with theft and fraud offences.

They are due to appear at Exeter Magistrates’ Court on July 2.
