A CAMPAIGN to get a footpath at Penrose Walks more disabled friendly has had a successful conclusion.

The National Trust has been working with the Phoenix Mentoring Project to resurface the footpath to make it easier for people in wheelchairs.

It has taken two years for phase one of the project to finish and phase two will begin soon, adding further improvements.

The team that have been working towards this include students on the Phoenix Mentoring Project from Helston Community College, Helston Fire Station manager Keith Stringer, project co-ordinator Karen Harvey, firefighter Mark Skinner, police community support officers Beth Pascoe and Paul Whitford, and members of the armed forces at RNAS Culdrose.

A plaque has been put up at the start of the path, to commemorate its reopening after refurbishment.
