A woman motorist who tested for drink-driving at nearly twice the limit, after staff at a Helston filling station reported her as being a possible drink-driver, lost her licence for 18 months at Truro’s magistrates’ court.

Chloe Louise Mundy, aged 26, of Gibson Way, Porthleven, pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Helston on June 27.

Alison May, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said police had been alerted by staff at Sainsbury’s and had stopped her car when she failed their screening test and was clearly in drink. She later tested at 62mcg. She had no previous convictions.

Graham Calderwood, Mundy’s solicitor, said his client suffered from depression. She was looking for managerial work in Truro, which she would find it difficult living in Helston and being unable to drive.

Mundy was also fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
