The Lions Club of Falmouth and Penryn has held its annual president’s handover presentation evening and marked the occasion by handing out cheques to local charities and organisations.
Club president George Atherton handed over cheques totalling £4,000 to Cornwall Youth Cricket Festival, Penryn and Falmouth Foodbank, Cruise Bereavement, the Merlin Centre, Penryn Old Folks’ Club, Penryn Federation, the Blind Association, Dementia Admiral nurses, the Stroke Club, Mary Jones Music for Dementia, Cornwall Cancer Care and the Children’s Hospice South West.
A further £1,550 raised at the club’s golf tournament was presented to children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent. The presentation evening was held at the Boslowick Inn, where the local Lions Club holds its meetings.
