A Truro man has been arrested for arson with intent to danger life after a Bodmin bungalow fire 

Firefighters and police were called to the home at St Georges Crescent, Bodmin on Sunday at about 1.30am after a report of a fire.

The fire, in a bedroom of a bungalow, resulted in damage to a window, curtains, vertical blinds and clothing.

Two occupants of the bungalow were in at the time of the fire and both women were taken to hospital at Treliske where they were treated for smoke inhalation.

One of the women had burns to her hand.

A 37 year-old man from Truro was arrested for arson with intent to danger life and was released on police bail until August.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and ask anyone with information to contact them on 101 quoting reference BB/13/1135.
