Smiling Faces Pre-School said a fond farewell to some of their children who are off to primary school in September and decided to host a tea party for the youngsters and their parents to mark the occasion.

The pre-school, which is located next to St Francis School in Falmouth, has just been awarded level five in Nippers Nutrition which confirms it boasts excellent nutritional standards, very good standards of food safety and uses local produce.

A spokesman for Smiling Faces said: “The pre-school children have had lots of fun learning how to make and taste some of the recipes. Parents have been fully supportive of the setting taking part in the Nippers scheme and everyone has learnt more about healthy snacks and portion sizes.

“The tea party today was a nice way to end the summer term with children moving onto school and an opportunity for the children to share all the different foods we try at pre-school. The children helped prepare some of the food today, including the sandwiches and fruit kebabs.

“Smiling Faces Pre-School would like to wish all the children good luck for their new schools and to thank all the parents for being supportive during the Nippers scheme.”
