Flowery hats blossomed like a country meadow on Saturday when Mullion WI celebrated their 90th birthday with a lunch at the Mullion Cove Hotel.
Blue skies and brilliant sunshine added to the enjoyment of the festivities and provided a summery backdrop to a celebratory group photograph taken outside the hotel.
Ann Symons, the president, welcomed members and guests to the lunch, including county chairman Kathy Reed and her husband John, county advisor Avril Woolcock and her husband Chris, and past presidents of Mullion WI Val Stephens and Margaret Tomlinson.
A competition run for the best party hat was won by Joy Bosuston, with Catherine Banks receiving second prize and Rosemary Bray third.
The afternoon ended with slices of the birthday cake, which was iced and decorated in the WI colours.
Margaret Evans thanked Ann Symons for her work in organising a very successful celebration.
Musicians Jonathon Coudrille and John Holden provided the entertainment during the afternoon, playing the classical guitar and the balalaika.
