The achievements of year 13 students at Helston Community College have been celebrated at a special presentation evening.
Students, staff, governors and friends gathered for the event, at which students were awarded subject prizes as well as individual awards for outstanding achievement and contribution to the college.
The success of the post-16 cohort was acknowledged by a speech from student council committee members Frazer Delves and Lauren Snaith before Vince Davis, a retiring and much respected member of staff, addressed the main hall full of proud parents and teachers.
Mr Davis’s speech highlighted the positive contributions the year group had made and he shared some fond memories before wishing them well for the next chapters of their lives.
He added: “Whenever I speak at events like this I tell the group that some of them will achieve great things. I am certain that this year, ALL of you will achieve great things.”
Chairman of the governors Graham Vallender gave thanks to the staff and students for their support and wished them well before they were joined by their teachers and family.
