The July meeting heard a first class presentation by Sharon Eustice of Peninsula Community Health who is a nurse consultant who heads a bladder and bowel specialist service.

Her talk and computer illustrations were full of good advice and encouraging information for men and women, which was warmly appreciated by members and guests.

We were also very pleased to welcome Gill Keeble from Praze WI, who gave a very comprehensive report on the AGM at Cardiff where she represented, Praze, Sithney, Godolphin and Leedstown. She highlighted all the major topics on the agenda with special reference to the resolution on supporting the high streets which was passed by a majority of 87% , so now we must all support the local shops or face seeing even more empty spaces in our towns.

We are very grateful to Gill for giving us a real flavour of the events at the AGM.

Our extracurricular visit this month was to The Lizard where we walked to the Lighthouse and had a delicious tea at “Coast”. Some members witnessed a helicopter land just in front of them – such excitement.

Our next monthly meeting in August is a cultural walk and our social event is a barbecue at Truthwall on August 20 at 6.30pm - everyone is welcome.
