The Sunday morning service on July 14 was led by Tony Nicholas and was based on the Parable of the Talents.

The Bible reading was from Matthew chapter 25 v 14-30 and Tony spoke about the variety and quality of talent displayed when Porthleven Chapel held a Craft Exhibition. He said that God gives us varying talents and wants us to use them to the full. God’s reward of work well done is more work to do. Margaret Eva was the organist and Colin Combellack operated the computer and projector.

On Sunday the Rev Danny Reed led early morning communion. The Bible reading was from Philippians chapter 2 v 11-13. Mr Reed spoke about there being more salvation to come and compared it to pricking a hole in a reservoir of grace and receiving one drop.

Mr Reed also conducted morning worship, with the theme coming from the Bible reading from 1 Peter chapter 2. The congregation was divided into four groups to discuss the meaning of the phrases Chosen People, Royal Priesthood, Holy Nation and Belonging to God. Each group gave details of their discussions and Mr Reed added further meanings to each topic. Nicola Hale was the pianist and Richard Curnow operated the computer and projector system.

On Sunday the Rev Steve Swann will lead a family service in the Trewennack Horticultural Show marquee. A Children’s Holiday Club will be held in the hall on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
