Sunday marks the 150th Anniversary celebrations at Leedstown Chapel and the 11am service will be taken by the Rev Harry Chant.

Also at 11am is Junior Church in the Sunday schoolroom. We will be celebrating 150 years of worship at LUMC on this occasion and there will be a celebration cake and a bring-and-share lunch following morning service. Anyone who has had anything to do with LUMC in the past, whether through worship, Junior Church, weddings, baptisms or funerals, is very welcome to come along to join the congregation for this special service. Barrie Williams is putting together an interesting history of the chapel and this will be on display in the Sunday schoolroom.

Members of Junior Church enjoyed a celebration of the Coronation on Sunday morning, with Queen Kimberleigh dressed in robes and crowned and anointed by “The Archbishop of Canterbury”, her brother Ashley. Kayleigh read from her new Bible, about King Saul as the first King of Israel. Matthew and Ashley were presented with birthday cards and enjoyed some cake with their friends.

Another chance to dress up will be the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on August 9 from 4pm to 5.30pm in the schoolroom. Follow the White Rabbit for a fun time with your friends, join the Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter for tea, and find where the Dormouse has fallen asleep. The event is for adults and children. Adults are invited to bring along a novelty teapot for display (at your own risk) in the higher schoolroom windows. There will be a prize for the one that makes most people laugh! Everyone is invited to dress in costume if they wish, but hats must be worn.
