PORTHLSunday's service for the eighth Sunday after Trinity was taken by Father Harry Pugh. The first lesson and the Psalm were read by Phyllis Whiting, the second lesson by Maureen Williams and Andrew Woods was the organist.

This week's services will be on Thursday at 10am (holy eucharist) and Sunday at 9.30am (solemn eucharist). Choir practice will be on Tuesday at 7.15pm - note the change of day for this week only.

St Bart's is hosting a concert by the Penzance Ladies Orpheus Choir on Sunday, July 28 at 7.30pm. Proceeds for Cornwall Hospice Care.

St Bart's summer fete will be on Tuesday, July 30 in church. Various stalls, raffle and refreshments. Raffle tickets are available from Maureen Williams. The winner of the 'name your street' competition will be announced at the fete.

There will be an 'Old Time Music Hall' in church on Wednesday, July 31 at 7.30pm. Various artistes including Angela Thomas and friends. Tickets £5 at the door on the evening. Proceeds for church funds. Tony Treglown's book about St Bart's is available in church and will be on sale at the fete. The cost is £6.99 with all profits for church funds.
