A new porch is due to be built on Penryn’s school pool over the summer break.
The extension is planned to reduce heating costs and cut the fuel bill for the pool, which receives no government funding and is reliant on funds raised within the community.
“We have also commissioned a building surveyor to oversee various infrastructure improvements,” said headteacher at Penryn Junior School Robin Cowen. We are also looking to replace all of the wooden benches in the changing areas.”
All of the improvements have been made possible “by the generous fundraising within the community led by Sandra Wilkinson,” Mr Cowen said in thanks.
