A roving rowing group has been formed in Flushing to help fill the gaps in other gig teams’ line-ups.
Known as “We Row Any Gig.Com,” the group of 14 friends are all former members of Nankersey Rowing Club who left recently over an internal dispute.
Despite being club-less, they continue to go to every event around the county and row with friends and teammates from other clubs.
“We all love rowing,” Anne Oliver, from the group, said.
“We have all decided to continue doing the sport we love and would like to thank our friends at both Penryn and Truro Rowing Club for allowing us to join in the racing by not only joining their crews, but also by using their boats.”
The group is now appealing for any gig clubs in need of a helping hand to get in touch, while “other random rowers” are more than welcome to join them to travel to events, Anne said.
