The beers will be flowing at the end of this week when the Lizard 2000 Club hosts its annual beer festival at Helston Football Club.

Now in its 13th year, organisers are hoping for some luck when it comes to fundraising for worthy causes in the area.

Recent donations have included money to St Keverne Band, Helston Rugby Club, Mullion Golf Club, the Fishermen’s Rest at Coverack and Cury Village Hall, as well as county charities such as Cornwall Air Ambulance and the Phoenix Stroke Appeal.

The beer festival begins tomorrow, Thursday, and runs until Saturday, and will be open between noon and 11pm all three days.

There will also be a barbecue and live music on the Friday and Saturday evenings.
