After five years of studying, the achievements of year 11 students at Helston Community College have been rewarded.
The teenagers gathered in the school hall along with their parents, teachers and local dignitaries including Captain Mark Garratt, commanding officer of RNAS Culdrose, for the year 11 presentation evening.
A number of subject prizes were handed out to students who had particularly excelled, as well as special awards for those who had offered extraordinary contributions to student life. The awards included one for engineering, sponsored by Culdrose and presented by Captain Garratt.
Once all the trophies had been awarded David Wood, former head of service, schools and achievement at Cornwall Council, gave his address, congratulating the college on its continued success.
