After a taxi driver reported to the police that he had seen a man staggering in the road at Dracaena Avenue, Falmouth, officers found that person asleep in a bush – and when they woke him he was apparently drunk.
David Leonard Christopher Feeley, a 33-year-old plumber of Berkeley Cottages, Falmouth, who pleaded guilty at Truro’s magistrates’ court to being drunk and disorderly on July 6.
Alison May, for the CPS, said he had been abusive to the officers all the time he was with them. He had previous convictions.
Feeley told District Judge Nigel Cadbury that he had been drinking after being told his son was to go to hospital, and he was afraid for him.
He was fined £200 and £105 costs and surcharge and given a drink banning order for six months.
