There will be two new bards from Truro and another from St Agnes inaugurated at this year’s Cornish Gorsedh.

To be held in Penryn this September, at the ancient site of Glasney College, the Cornish Gorsedh will celebrate and promote the county’s distinctive Celtic culture.

This year’s principle ceremony will take place at 2pm on Saturday, September 7 and see the inauguration of 18 new bards in recognition of their outstanding work in serving Cornwall and its identity.

These will include Angela Renshaw from Truro for her creativity in Cornish music, David Trethewey from Truro for examination in the Cornish language and continuing work for Cornwall, and Roger Radcliffe from St Agnes for his research and promotion of St Agnes.
