A day of tasty food has served up £710 in donations for the Merlin MS Centre thanks to a fundraising event in Helston.
Margaret Eva and her team of helpers at Tregarrick Farm were raising money for the centre, which supports people affected by multiple sclerosis.
They began the day providing teas and coffees, before serving up ploughman’s lunches – of which 65 were sold – cream teas in the afternoon and finally a barbecue in the evening.
Throughout the event there was a raffle and bottle tombola running, as well as a stall selling bric-a-brac and a separate raffle for a granite chopping board donated by Frederick Wearne and Sons stonemasons.
There was a steady stream of visitors over the course of the day and the event organiser Mrs Eva said: “We’re very pleased with the amount raised.
“I’m very grateful to all the helpers that make it possible. Without the helpers we couldn’t do it.”
