Students at Helston Community College are celebrating another set of top results, with average grades higher than ever.
More than three quarters of A-level grades awarded were C or better, while the pass rate for 29 of the subjects was 100 per cent.
This has led to the average A-level grade for the college being midway between a B and a C – above the national average.
Students taking BTEC vocational courses were also successful, with the average grade being a distinction.
A delighted headteacher Dr Pat McGovern said: “Once again we are delighted with the outstanding results gained by the students of the college. The average A-level grade of B/C is a remarkable achievement from a truly comprehensive post-16 college.”
He added that 103 of the college’s students had received university places – a record number – including all that applied to the Oxbridge universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
“I would like to pay tribute to the dedicated hard work and commitment of all the staff who have ensured students have achieved at the highest levels,” he added.
