Police renew appeal over fatal Newquay crash

Police are renewing their appeal for information about a fatal collision that happened in the early hours of Sunday, August 11 near the Godolphin Arms, Henver Road, Newquay.
The collision involved a Chrysler PT Cruiser and a pedestrian at around 2am. They are keen to trace a group of people who may have witnessed the incident.
MPC Neil Sullivan, serious collisions investigation unit, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident and in particular a group of people who may have been stood opposite the Godolphin Arms and witnessed the collision.”
The pedestrian, a Polish man named Daniel Miroslaw Ciupak, 24, who lived in Newquay, died later of his injuries.
A 23-year-old man from Penzance has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on police bail until 18 November 2013.
Anyone with information that may assist with the investigation is asked to call MPC Neil Sullivan on 101 quoting log 159 of 11 August.
