Firefighters welcome public for Falmouth station open day
3:00pm Saturday 24th August 2013 in News
Falmouth Community Fire Station threw open its doors to the public on Saturday and attracted a good number of people who braved the bad weather.
All the activities had been moved inside to the appliance bays because of the rain, but visitors were still able to see the demonstrations and view the stalls laid out.
Firefighters were on hand to carry out extrication demonstrations, showing how they removed people from crashed cars and show people around the fire engines. On a lighter note, there was also a bouncy castle, face painting and a tombola and raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses. All the money raised on the day will go to the Firefighters Charity.
