Police want to talk to this man after an American tourist had his luggage stolen from a train as it approached Camborne.

Officers from British Transport Police are appealing for the public’s help and have released CCTV images of a man they believe will have information which can assist the investigation into the theft, which took place on Wednesday, July 31.

PC Wayne Frost, said: “The victim, a man in his 50s who was visiting from the USA, boarded the 0645hrs Penzance-London Paddington service at Penzance station on Wednesday, 31 July.

“He later reported his rucksack missing. After reviewing CCTV footage, I would like to identify and speak to the man in these photographs as I believe he will have key information about the incident.

“The man in these pictures travelled on the same train as the victim and departed at Camborne station where he left the station for a while, before returning and catching the 0800hrs service to Redruth station.

“He is described as white, aged about 25, with short, shaved dark hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark trousers.”
