Postal mix up leaves pupils without bus passes at start of new term
6:00am Friday 6th September 2013 in News
Pupils who have not received their school bus passes will be picked up regardless after a postal mix up at the start of the new term.
A "problem with the mailing process" meant as many as 200 pu0pils had not been sent their passes, leaving parents scratching their heads about their children would get to school.
However school buses will be picking up the pupils without passes until the problem is resolved.
Cornwall Council said: “A problem with the mailing process of some bus passes means that a number of children have not yet received their pass.
“The problem was discovered on Tuesday morning when a number of parents contacted the Council to enquire why their child had not yet received their bus pass.
“The Council has contacted all bus operators to instruct them to pick up all children waiting regardless of whether they have passes until the problem is resolved.
“Replacement passes are being sent out to all parents who have already contacted the authority and any parent whose child has not yet received their pass is asked to inform their school so that details can be passed to the Council who will arrange for a replacement pass to be sent to them.”
