12:00pm Sunday 8th September 2013 in News
Penlee Lifeboat launched twice in two days, once for a report of two "drunk" men in trouble in a small boat, the second for four people and a dog in a broken down boat off St Michaels Mount.
The lifeboat were called out at 8.50pm on Wednesday to search for a possible broken down vessel seen by a member of the public between St Michaels Mount and Cudden Point.
Using radar, night vision camera and search lights the lifeboat crew found the unlit vessel at anchor 1/4 of a mile NE of the Mount.
Due to the shallow depth the y-boat was launched to help the vessel, which had broken down with four peole persons and a dog onboard.
With no vhf radio the vessel was unable to raise the alarm and the the y-boat towed the vessel to the lifeboat which then towed it to Penzance Harbour.
Penlee Lifeboat returned to Newlyn at 10.40
