A man from Illogan has received eight weeks custody suspended for 12 months and a six month supervision order after admitting housing benefit and council tax benefit fraud totalling £12,934.98.

Peter Everett (52) of Alexandra Road, Illogan pleaded guilty at Truro Magistrates Court on Friday 06 September 2013 to four counts of benefit fraud, two of failing to promptly report to Cornwall Council that he had commenced paid employment and two counts of failing to promptly report to Cornwall Council that his partner had commenced paid employment.

The overpaid benefits are being recovered from Mr Everett by Cornwall Council separately from this Court action.
