Solar park planned for quarry land near Penryn
12:00pm Sunday 15th September 2013 in News
The owners of a concrete plant at Kessel Quarry near Penryn want to build a solar energy park on neighbouring land.
Aggregate Industries, owner and operator of Kessel concrete plant, and renewable energy developer, AGRenewables, have launched a public consultation for the proposed solar installation on land south of the main quarry works.
The companies say that the consultation aims to give people the chance to find out about the application and to engage in the planning process.
Leaflets with information about the proposal have been sent to local residents, and a public exhibition will be held at Mabe Community Primary School on Monday, September 16 from 4pm to 8pm.
A website has also been launched at www.aggregatesolarkessel.co.uk for people to read more about the project and submit comments, with the project team also inviting feedback via email and post.
The consultation will be open until 5pm on Monday, September 30, and all feedback received will be considered prior to a planning application being submitted to Cornwall Council in the coming months.
