Carnon Downs Village Hall has been given a £450,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund to refurbish and extend its facilities.
The money will be spent on developing the kitchen, toilets and creating a better entrance.
The plan is to then increase the services on offer, including coffee mornings, a mother and toddler group and film nights, with training courses and educational classes also held there.
Describing as “fantastic news” for new and existing users of the hall, Sue Felton, chair of the hall committee, said the ambition was to create a village hall “fit for the 21st century”.
The grant is part of a £1.5m pot being given to various groups in the region, with a youth project in Hayle similarly successful.
The Hayle Youth Project, which offers activities for around 400 teenagers, will receive £118,291 to funding sporting activities such as rock climbing, surfing and golf, plus a one-to-one mentoring advice.
