A day of treasure hunts, bee box making and welly throwing is coming to Camborne for the second Big Green Weekend at Tuckingmill Valley Park.

Between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, October 5 there will also be snail races, tree surveys and face painting, with a barbecue and refreshments, organised by the Conservation Volunteers group.

Entry to the Green Flag accredited site between Camborne and Pool is free.

Visitors will be able to chat to staff and local volunteers and residents, including the Friends of Tuckingmill Valley Park group.

Ash Pearson, Conservation Volunteers manager, said: “Tuckingmill Valley Park really is a hidden gem, and just the sort of site that could be under threat if it weren’t for community involvement. We’re inviting everyone to come and take part in the Big Green Weekend and learn about the opportunities for helping to take care of this and other green spaces around the area for both us and future generations to enjoy.”
